Soft Scrub

¾  rounded cup baking soda

¼ C. castile soap

1 Tbs. Water

1 Tbs. vinegar

5-10 drops of lemon, melaleuca, or cleansing essential oil of your choice

In a bowl, combine the baking soda and castile soap.  Add the water and stir.  Finally, add the vinegar.  Consistency should be a soft paste.

 

Toilet Bowl Cleaner

½ C. baking soda

10 drops melaleuca or cleansing essential oil of your choice

¼ C. vinegar

Add these ingredients directly to a partially drained bowl.  As it reacts, scrub the toilet then flush.

Soap Scum Prevention

In a spray bottle combine a mixture of 2 parts white vinegar and 1 part water

Leave spray bottle in the show and spray on the glass after every use.  Allow to air dry (use a squeegee if you have one available)

Dishwasher Detergent

1 Cup Borax
1 Cup Washing Soda
1/2 Cup Citric Acid
1/2 Cup Kosher Salt
6-10 drops of a cleansing essential oil
Use 1 rounded tablespoon of this homemade detergent per load. I also pour a little distilled white vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher. (I have heard not to use the vinegar in the rinse agent compartment as it might ruin the rubber seal).

Carpet Deodorizer

1C. baking soda

1 C. Borax

30 drops of your favorite essential oil

Mix these ingredients together in a bowl and transfer to your container.  An old used parmesan cheese container works great!

Window Cleaner

1/8 C. vinegar

1 C. water

10-15 drops lemon essential oil

Mix ingredients in a glass spray bottle.  Shake and apply.  Wipe clean
 

Natural Air Freshener

1/4 cup baking soda

5-6 drops of your favorite essential oil

Mix in a jar with holes in the lid.  Place in desired room.

All Purpose Disinfecting Spray

16 oz. glass spray bottle

1/4 cup white vinegar

1 3/4 cups water

30 drops essential oil (see suggestions below)

1 teaspoon borax

Add all ingredients to bottle and shake well.

**15 drops each of Lavender and Lemon

**10 drops each of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Wild Orange

**30 drops each of Grapefruit

Dilution

When using essential oils, we want them to not only be safe but effective.💪  To ensure that we are using them to receive their maximum benefit, something I like to be sure my oil community knows is how to properly dilute oils for topical dilution. As we have gone over, essential oils are very potent and concentrated. When we dilute them with what we call a “carrier oil”, we minimize skin sensitivity as well as extend the absorption into the skin.  👉 So, what is carrier oil? Carrier oils are vegetable oils with minimal or no scent that are used to dilute essential oils. Our favorite is Fractionated Coconut Oil.
